Regular Northwest Face of Half Dome (Summer 2007)

Shay and I decided that our main objective during our weeklong stay in Yosemite last summer would be the Regular Northwest Face of Half Dome. Since Shay had zero aid experience, heart I showed him how to aid and jumar on Lie Detector at Woodson... A couple laps up and down and I pronounced him ready for a bigwall. We cruised the route according to plan:

Day 1 Hike up the Death Slabs, fill up water from the spring at the base, and fix the first three pitches.

Day 2 Blast up to Big Sandy, the bivy ledge at the top of the 17th pitch.

Day 3 Finish the rest of the route and run 8 miles down to the pizza deck!
